Knowing “How Not To” is as important as knowing “How To”, I believe.
So, here is a list of things you shouldn’t do while promoting your affiliate products.
Even if he/she need that product or service, they gonna hate you.
Build a relationship. Try understanding their problems/dreams. Recommend a solution. That’s how you should do it.
You are not going to be a typical salesman.
Remember, It’s always easier to sell a solution/dream. Selling a product is difficult.
Remember, you don’t have any control over the cart. Promoting without a bridge page is gonna hurt you more than you think it will.
It’s on the bridge page, you pitch your product. A bridge page is also the best option to convey your message.

Give them a reason to buy from you. Give them offers and gifts when they buy from you.
The best and easiest offer you can stack will be the support. You can even compose a guide/ebook to address their post-sale concerns and issues.

Don’t let your content look like an ad. This will take your credibility and prospects will consider your profile not trustworthy.
Money is in the follow ups. I understand. But don’t overdo it.
This might create friction between you and your prospect. Don’t give it a chance.
