The sales funnel describes the sales process from initial contact to the sale. A sales funnel takes the model of a leaky funnel. The seller drops all the contacts of potential customers (Sales opportunities, we can refer ) into the funnel.
At some point, sale opportunities are removed from the funnel because the so called potential customers are not interested in your product / service any more. Or you thought they are not fit.
Do we really have different stages in a sales funnel? The stages of sales process refer to the readiness of the potential customer for the sale. Yes. The probability of sale. As a potential customer moves down the funnel, the probability of sales increases and time to close the deal decreases.
In this process, the entrepreneur or the business owner try to remove the barriers (The uncertainity about the product fitness, budget, buying process etc ) for the deal. Whenever a barrier is removed, the potential customer moves to the next level.

A closer look into the process gives a clearer picture. Let’s break the entire process into stages.
A lead is someone with whom you haven’t spoken to till date. But there is a strong chance that this guy might be interested in your product or service. He has got similar looks of your target customer.
How to attract him? Contents. Good quality contents bring him to you. Write content tailored for the leads. I have sorted out the best tools available.
A prospect is those people who have confirmed their interest. Aaahaaa…! Congratulations. You have managed to bring few people to the next level. But how do you do it in your wordpress powered website?
So, how do you get prospects with hustle plugin? It’s easy. Bring customized slide-ins and pop-ups to the pages asking the suspect for subscription. Subscribed? Great! He is a prospect now. Closed the subscription box? Remove him from the funnel. Or give him more time to come back!
Time to verify your prospect. This is what you are supposed to do in this stage. This is the most critical and demanding stage. Now you make sure that the prospect needs your product, sees value in your offering, there is sufficient budget for the deal, access to the decision maker, etc.
This process should be brought through a semi-automated email system. Obviously, you have the email ids of the prospects. Now it’s easy to create a list and start reaching out them to understand them more.

Now the Prospect is committed to the deal.
Now what remains is to work out the details of contract, delivery and payment. A deal/sale happens when the contract is signed by both the parties. The salesperson or the entrepreneur can now focus on other suspects. Bring them through the funnel. Carry out the the complete process and make your next sale happen.
Now. If a sales opportunity didn’t move down the funnel, you will have to remove him from the funnel. As a salesperson or entrepreneur you have to focus more on opportunities that yield result. Don’t panic. It doesn’t mean that you have completely removed a suspect. You can put him back to the funnel whenever he did a positive action.
Now your Sales Funnel is ready. work on it till you get the perfect funnel. Good luck!
